A Saudi prince, Abdullah bin Fahad bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Jalawi al Saud, who was found dead in his hotel room in London last year, had a heavy dose of alcohol, the drug gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), cannabis, and Xanax in his system, according to a toxicology report.

Citing a toxicology report tendered in court, The Telegraph UK on Thursday reported that the prince had almost three times the drink-drive limit at the time of his death.

“A toxicology report showed that the young royal had a blood ethanol concentration of 222mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood.

“The drink-drive limit is 80mg. Potentially fatal levels of the so-called “party drug” gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) were also found in his system, as well as traces of cannabis, the anti-anxiety medication alprazolam, better known as Xanax, and other anti-anxiety medicines,” the report stated.

It added, “Three months earlier, he had been an inpatient at the Priory Clinic in Roehampton, south-west London, where a stay can cost as much as £35,000 a week. There, he was detoxed from alcohol, benzodiazepines and the anti-anxiety drug pregabalin.”

According to the report, an inquest at Inner West London coroner’s court heard that Prince Abdullah, 29, suffered a cardiac arrest after consuming alcohol and drugs in high quantity.

The prince was found unresponsive in the bathroom of his locked fifth-floor room at the Marriott Hotel in Kensington, West London, on November 25, 2025.
