Security guard arraigned for allegedly stealing Ibadan employer’s belongings worth N3.5 million
A security guard, Jerry Stephen, was on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly breaking into his employer’s house.
Stephen, 30, was charged with conspiracy, house breaking, stealing and malicious damage.
He however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, ASP Olagoke Adegbenro, said the defendant committed the offences in June 2026, at Akala Express way, Ibadan.
Adegbenro alleged that the defendant and others at large broke into the house of his employer, Adetunji Adegboyega and stole items all worth N3,534,500.
He listed the items stolen to include TV sets, fan, shoes, air conditioner, karat gold, pendant, cables and others.
He said the offences contravened provisions of Sections 390(9), 412, 451 and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Olasinmibo Sanusi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million and two reliable sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until September 7 for hearing.(NAN)
