Semenyo scores only goal as Man City beat Leeds United to close gap with Arsenal

Manchester City fought their way into a narrow 1-0 win over Leeds United at Elland Road to reduce the gap adrift of Premier League table leaders Arsenal to just two points.
Despite being without Erling Haaland, who was absent from the matchday squad due to an injury he suffered in training, City survived late pressure from Leeds to keep the title race very close.
A goal by Antoine Semenyo just before the halftime whistle, after tapping home a through pass from Rayan Ait Nouri, was enough to secure the important three points for Pep Guardiola’s side.
It was Semenyo’s 14th Premier League goal, taking his total goal contributions to 18. The result meant City are now unbeaten in their last nine matches across all competitions, winning eight of them.
Speaking after the match, Semenyo said, “It means everything! We just want to win all our games, and whatever Arsenal do, we’ll just have to wait and see. We just need to control what we can control, win our games, and we’ll see what happens.”
Manchester City fans will shift their focus to the biggest match of the weekend, Arsenal vs Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, hoping to see the Gunners drop points.
