Senator begins 2km constituency road project in Cross River LG

Senator Eteng Williams (APC-Cross River) commissioned work to begin on the 2-kilometre Mkpani Link Road project in Yakurr Local Government Area on Monday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Williams said the road would link communities in the area, enabling effective social and economic networking.
The senator stated that the road project was part of his electioneering promises to the people, adding,” This road will facilitate economic growth and rural transformation.”
“This road forms part of my deliberate effort to promote the well-being of residents of this senatorial district. It is one of the several projects that we shall undertake.
“Our desire is to add value to rural communities and improve the living standards of our constituents. Roads are critical to the socio-economic development of every society,” he said.
He said that agrarian communities required a good road network to effectively move farm produce to markets outside their localities.
Some residents of the senatorial district who spoke to journalists described the road project as timely and well-intended.
They expressed optimism that, when completed, the road would address the transportation challenges faced by the people.
