Septuagenarian sues 22-year-old woman for interfering in marriage
A septuagenarian, Amina Abubakar, has sued a 22-year-old woman, Shamsiya Sa’adu, at a Sharia Court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, for interfering in her daughter-in-law’s marriage.
Ms Abubakar, through her counsel, Muhammad Nasir, alleged that she caused friction between her son and his wife, Nusaiba Samaila, due to Ms Sa’adu’s interference.
”She questioned my client’s daughter-in-law, shortly after her marriage, on why she got pregnant early. Sa’adu told Samaila to abort the pregnancy, but she refused. A few days after that, she had a miscarriage,” said Mr Nasir.
He also alleged that Ms Sa’adu gave poison to his client’s daughter-in-law.
“My client has warned Sa’adu to stay away from her daughter-in-law, but she refuses to do so,” he said.
He prayed the court to warn Ms Sa’adu to refrain from his client’s in-law’s marital affairs and sanction her accordingly for her foul utterances.
However, Ms Sa’adu, who resides in Maraban Jos, Kaduna, denied the allegations.
The judge, Rilwanu Kyaudai, adjourned the case until June 7.
He ordered the complainant to produce witnesses on the adjourned date.
Mr Kyaudai also granted bail to the defendant with a reliable surety who must be a Nigerian and known to the court.
