Sequel to American comedy movie ‘Girls Trip’ to take place in Ghana

The comedy movie stars Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The sequel to Girls Trip, an American comedy movie, is set to take place in Ghana.

Co-writer in the much-anticipated sequel, Tracy Oliver, told Variety at the Sundance film festival that “Nobody knows this and the producer will probably kill me, but we are looking to set it in Ghana.”

The Will Packer Production, was initially filmed in New Orleans during the 2016 Essence Music Festival, starring Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish, and Jada Pinkett Smith. 

The movie narrated the lives of four middle-aged women on a trip to resuscitate a long-time friendship.

In January 2022, the producer Will Packer confirmed to Good Morning America of a Girls Trip sequel.

“We are absolutely in the stages, the ladies are in, I just talked to the director,” he said.

The film received multiple awards and nominations after its release in 2017. It generated over 140 million dollars worldwide.
