SGF Akume, delegation to showcase Nigeria’s investment opportunities, culture in Berlin
The local organising committee of the Nigerian-German Investment and Cultural Expo (NGICE 2026) in Berlin has met with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, to fine-tune preparations for the event.
The coordinator of NGICE 2026 and Nigerian Cultural Ambassador to Germany, Ambassador Chielo Ojirika, disclosed the development in an interview in Abuja on Saturday.
Mr Ojirika said the local organising committee of the NGICE 2026, chaired by the former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mike Okiro, paid an update visit to the SGF to brief him on the preparations and new developments on the expo.
He said the visit became necessary as the SGF would lead the NGICE delegation to showcase Nigeria’s investment opportunities and cultural heritage in Berlin.
According to him, the expo is to showcase Nigeria’s investment potential in oil and gas and solid minerals and to encourage foreign investors to invest.
Mr Ojirika, who is also known as Chiboy D’Black Courage, added that “the expo would also further expose our music and movies to the world. That is what we aim to achieve with the expose.
“NGICE 2026 is being designed as a strategic platform to attract foreign direct investment and promote the country’s diverse cultural and business opportunities.
“It also aims to bring the world to Berlin for Nigeria. We are presenting Nigeria as an investor’s paradise, a country full of untapped opportunities in trade, agriculture, fashion, technology, and culture.”
Mr Ojirika explained that the expo would feature exhibitions, investment showcases, business forums, and roundtable sessions involving investors, financial institutions, CEOs, and public-private sector leaders.
According to him, other activities will include cultural displays, a global peace concert, a gala night/awards, networking sessions, and guided visits to relevant companies and institutions in Germany.
“We are not just promoting investment. We are also showcasing Nigeria’s soft power—our culture, our people, and our potential,” he added.
