SGF assures Nigerians of better Nigeria under Tinubu presidency

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has assured Nigerians that they are in good hands under the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
He gave the assurance on Tuesday in Abuja at the public presentation of a book titled, “365 days of Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidency: Resetting the strategic foundation for a new Nigeria.’’
The book was jointly authored by Taiwo Ajibolu Balofin and Bolu Folayan.
Mr Akume said, “We are on the right track and we want to also thank Nigerians for showing support to this government. In spite of the global economic challenges, the Tinubu-led administration has made some remarkable and significant progress in initiatives such as fuel subsidy removal, students’ loan and revitalisation of the solid mineral sector and others.
“Today, the President inaugurated one of the major roads in Abuja and several other projects. Many more projects have also been penciled down for inauguration across the country. We want to inform Nigerians that we are making progress.’’
He expressed optimism that the administration would achieve much more before the end of its tenure if it could achieve this much in one year.
“Imagine what we can achieve in the remaining years to come. I encourage all Nigerians to continue to support this government. In calling for a Renewed Hope, we are calling for a new Nigeria, we are lucky to have somebody like Tinubu leading this country at this point in time,” the SGF said.
He described Mr Tinubu as a great Nigerian who was at home with everybody, irrespective of religion, tribe and political affiliations.
“I know the number of people I took to him, initially, he had some reservations but he received them. Today, some of them are his very close associates. He loves this country, no doubt about it, to further show his popularity during the 2023 presidential election, he went on to defeat the northern candidate, even in Kano. Tinubu has the third eye, which we don’t have; he has this knack to identify very popular political caucuses and also demonstrates exceptional qualities.
“That is the hallmark of leadership. Otherwise we will be chasing shadows. He has friends across the nation, and that is why today we celebrate him,” Akume said.
He said the book would give Nigerians the opportunity to see what Tinubu-led government had been able to do within 12 out of 48 months given to him to fix the country.
The Interim Chairman, All Progressives Congress United Kingdom Chapter, Tunde Doherty, said he was particularly proud to see the strong engagement and recognition of Nigerians in the Diaspora by President Tinubu.
He said the Tinubu-led administration had continually valued the contributions of Nigerians abroad, acknowledging their efforts in promoting the country and the APC on the global stage.
He added that Mr Tinubu’s commitment to involving Nigerians in the Diaspora was a testament of his inclusive and strategic leadership.
According to Mr Doherty, Mr Tinubu’s dedication to democratic principles has been exemplary in reinforcing trust and confidence in his leadership.
“His strategic initiatives have started to bear fruits and we are confident that his continued efforts will lead to greater achievements in the years to come,” he said.
Mr Balofin, one of the authors of the book, said it took one year to put it together because of the confidence they had in Mr Tinubu, saying it was all about Tinubu Triumph Theory and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The APC’s National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, who chaired the book presentation, congratulated Nigerians and Mr Tinubu on his one year in office, saying he had done remarkably well amid challenges.
Mr Ganduje said, “There is no doubt that since his assumption to office, President Tinubu has faced many challenges, many of which are global, some are inherited, but there has been some progress. I want to urge Nigerians to show patience and understanding in this administration’s efforts to address some of these challenges ranging from economy, security and others. No doubt, President Bola Tinubu is one patriotic Nigerian, who is committed to the unity, development and progress of this country. This I believe has been highlighted by the authors in the book.’’
