Shettima declares for Kaduna Central senatorial seat, pledges quality representation

Yerima Shettima, the convener of Northern Stakeholders Consultative Initiative, has declared his intention to contest the Kaduna Central senatorial seat in 2027 under the All Progressives Congress.
Mr Shettima, who announced his intention at the party secretariat in Kaduna, said his aspiration was driven by a commitment to provide quality representation to the people of Kaduna Central, the state, and the nation.
He stated that he was not in the race to make empty promises but to assure the party of his readiness to deliver effective and responsible representation if elected.
“I will not let the party, the state, and Nigeria down if given the opportunity,” he said, adding that the APC could secure victory by presenting credible candidates.
Mr Shettima also pledged loyalty and commitment to the APC. He commended President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for their efforts in repositioning Nigeria and Kaduna, respectively.
The APC secretary in Kaduna, Abubakar Rabiu Abubakar, welcomed the declaration and described Mr Shettima as a strong advocate of youth inclusiveness.
Mr Abubakar said the development aligned with the vision of Mr Sani to ensure equal opportunities for all party members. He also highlighted achievements recorded by the current administration, noting that the party continued to make progress under Sani’s leadership.
According to him, the APC needs committed members like Mr Shettima who actively promote the party across communities.
“The party needs individuals who are working tirelessly to propagate its ideals in every nook and cranny,” he said.
