Siblings in court for stealing grinding mill engine worth N165,000

Two brothers, Adamu and Khalid Salihu, 24, were on Thursday arraigned before a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a Honda grinding mill engine worth N165,000.
The defendants whose addresses were not provided are charged with conspiracy and stealing, offences they denied committing.
The prosecutor, Inspetor Chidi Leo, said that the brothers committed the offence on March 16, at Kawo Market, Kaduna at about 1:00am.
He said that the brothers conspired and broke into a shop, belonging to Jamilu Yusuf and stole a Honda grinding mill engine.
Mr Leo said the defendants were caught and handed over to the police by a guard who raised the alarm when he saw them stealing.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
Mr Emmanuel said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and adjourned the case until April 22, for hearing.
