So-Safe corps nabs Ogun man for armed robbery

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested a 25-year-old suspected armed robber, Babatunde Ayinla, during a midnight patrol in Itele.
The commander of the corps, Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying officers of the Itele-Ayetoro area command, led by Abayomi Abass, made the arrest.
Mr Ganzallo said the suspect was arrested at about 1:00 a.m. near Orji Block Bus Stop along Lafenwa Road after operatives received a distress call about an ongoing robbery in the Ladot axis.
“In a swift response, So-Safe operatives mobilised to the scene. While some members of the robbery gang fled on a stolen motorcycle, Ayinla, a resident of Amikanle community, was cornered and subdued,” he said.
Mr Ganzallo said a search of the suspect led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol, two rounds of live ammunition and a protective charm.
“The suspect and the recovered items have since been handed over to the Itele Police Station for further investigation and prosecution,” he stated.
