Soludo wins in LP candidate’s polling unit

The polling unit had 463 registered voters, out of which only 86 electorates were accredited for the election.

Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, on Saturday, emerged victorious at the polling unit of the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, George Moghalu.

The presiding officer of Polling Unit 017, Uruagu Ward 1 of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Okonkwo Ebere, anounced the preliminary results at about 2:50 p.m. after the election was concluded. 

According to the result, Mr Soludo polled 57 votes to defeat Mr Moghalu who secured 22 votes.

While the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Nicholas Ukachukwu, scored five votes, the remaining votes were shared among other participating political parties.

The polling unit had 463 registered voters, out of which only 86 electorates were accredited for the election.

Data by the Independent National Electoral Commission showed that the state has 2,802,790 registered voters across 21 LGAs Areas, 326 political wards, and 5,718 polling units participating in the polls.
