Anambra’s first lady, Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to adopt healthy lifestyles to enhance their brain health. Mrs Soludo made the call in a message on Wednesday in Awka to commemorate the 2026 World Brain Day, which is celebrated globally every year on July 22.

World Brain Day is commemorated to raise awareness about brain health and neurological disorders. She stressed the importance of good nutrition, regular physical activity, quality sleep, lifelong learning and mental wellness in maintaining optimal brain function.

Mrs Soludo said that embracing these healthy habits would help individuals protect one of God’s greatest gifts and improve their overall well-being.

“As we commemorate World Brain Day today, it is crucial to remember that a healthy brain is the foundation of a sound and healthy life. By embracing good nutrition, regular physical activity, quality sleep, lifelong learning and mental wellness, we can protect one of God’s greatest gifts,” she said.

Mrs Soludo also called on citizens to support one another in promoting mental wellness and building a healthier and more productive society.

“Let us nurture our minds, support one another and build a healthier, more productive society,” she said.
