South African police arrest four over attempted murder

Police in South Africa say they arrested four suspects aged between 27 and 36 over the attempted murder of a man at his home in Meloding in the country.
The South African Police Service disclosed this in a post on X on Monday, stating that the incident occurred on July 10.
“The suspects were traced and arrested by the Welkom #AntiGangUnit after intelligence was received.
“Police also seized pangas, knives, a tonfa, a spear, and a sjambok believed to have been used in the assault,” it said.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Virginia Magistrate’s Court soon, the police said.
