South African police arrest four over attempted murder

The suspects are expected to appear before the Virginia Magistrate’s Court soon, the police said.

Police in South Africa say they arrested four suspects aged between 27 and 36 over the attempted murder of a man at his home in Meloding in the country.

The South African Police Service disclosed this in a post on X on Monday, stating that the incident occurred on July 10.

“The suspects were traced and arrested by the Welkom #AntiGangUnit after intelligence was received.

“Police also seized pangas, knives, a tonfa, a spear, and a sjambok believed to have been used in the assault,” it said.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Virginia Magistrate’s Court soon, the police said.
