Southern Kaduna groups hail Tinubu over Gen. Musa’s appointment as defence minister

Southern Kaduna support groups under the Karkara ta Asiwaju da Uba Sani Organisation have commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Gen. Christopher Musa (retd) as the minister of defence.
Speaking at a news briefing on Thursday in Kaduna, the Convener of the coalition, Jonah Pompo, described the appointment as timely and strategic, saying Mr Musa’s record made him a fitting choice for the ministry.
Mr Pompo also lauded Governor Uba Sani for what he described as a quiet but effective engagement that supported the nomination.
According to him, earlier collaboration among Messrs Tinubu, Sani and Musa during the latter’s tenure as Chief of Defence Staff contributed to stabilising several troubled communities and restoring public confidence in security operations.
He said Kaduna stood to benefit from stronger intelligence coordination and improved military response as Mr Musa assumes office.
The coalition described the moment as a renewed security push and urged Nigerians to support the president’s reforms, noting that ongoing economic and institutional adjustments were tough but showing early signs of progress.
It further praised Mr Sani’s inclusive leadership, saying his focus on human development and community welfare continued to rebuild public trust.
The groups expressed confidence that Mr Musa’s experience would strengthen inter-agency cooperation and expand community-driven security initiatives nationwide.
Reaffirming support for the president and the Kaduna State Government, the coalition urged citizens to remain united in the pursuit of peace and development. (NAN)
