“I almost feel like you leave us no choice, there has been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season” the director Hwang Dong-hyuk said at a red-carpet celebration.

He revealed the second season is already in the “planning process” although he is not sure when exactly.

“It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently. But I do think it’s too early to say when and how that’s going to happen.

“So I will promise you this, Gi-hun will be back and he’ll do something for the world,” he added.

The survival series of hundreds of contestants competing for a mouthwatering prize despite deadly obstacles have thrilled the hearts of many viewers around the world, who now desperately await a second season.
