SSS operatives storm Kano Emir’s palace

Several operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) have been to the palace of the Emir of Kano amid the sacking of four emirs in the state.
The Kano parliament repealed the Kano Emirates Council Law, 2019, dissolving the Emirates of Bichi, Gaya, Karaye and Rano.
SSS director in Kano, Muhammad Alhassan, disclosed this to journalists in Kano on Thursday.
Mr Alhassan said the SSS deployed its agents to the palace as part of a security arrangement for the visit of the first lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the emir.
He said, however, that the operatives were withdrawn following the postponement of the visit due to the emir’s absence from town.
He said the deployment had nothing to do with the recent development at the Kano House of Assembly.
