Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has urged the 6,837 graduands of the institution to remain connected with the institution through its Alumni Association.

Mr Ige made the appeal on Friday during the 13th convocation of the institution.

The vice chancellor, who stressed the importance of the relationship between graduands and the alumni association, said that it would significantly contribute to the growth of the institution.

He encouraged the graduands to remain steadfast ambassadors of the institution and to reflect the quality of education they acquired at the institution.

“I wholeheartedly urge each of you to uphold and embody the values that have been carefully instilled in you during your time at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. These values of integrity, innovation, and excellence are the cornerstones of the education you have received here and will serve as your guiding principles as you step into the larger world.

“I encourage you to become steadfast ambassadors of this great institution, showcasing these virtues in all that you do. Let your actions, decisions, and contributions reflect the quality of the education and moral ground you have acquired at AAUA. Remember that you carry the name of this university with you, and through your achievements, you can elevate its reputation and inspire future generations of students. Stay deeply connected with the alumni association, which serves as a bridge between you and your alma mater.”

The vice chancellor asked the graduands to give back to the university through mentorship, financial support, or advocacy so that future students would benefit from them.

Mr Ige enjoined the graduands to strive to make themselves a blessing to the world.

He said, “The world eagerly awaits your contributions, and I am confident that you will rise to the occasion, making significant impacts in your chosen fields, communities, and beyond. Always strive for excellence, seek to innovate, and hold steadfast to your integrity, as these are the traits that will distinguish you and make you invaluable wherever you go.”
