Actress Tonto Dikeh has criticised the senior pastor of Citadel Global Christian Centre, Tunde Bakare, over his remarks that Mohbad died from drinking, smoking and his association with “evil” people.

The actress took to her Instagram page to condemn Bakare’s sermon on harvest in envoy nation church UK on Sunday.

“When he was drinking and smoking and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth,” Bakare had said about the singer’s death.

But the actress berated Bakare for not counselling pastors embroiled in sex scandals. She asked the cleric to avoid mentioning Mohbad’s name in his sermons and focus on his corrupted colleagues.

“When your colleagues are caught with their pants down in unholy sexual activities, we never hear your voice, you never speak or preach about them… It comes to the death of a boy who is old enough to be your last born, and you say he reaped the rewards of his actions; what actions?” she said.

The actress said she would avoid insulting the cleric because she respected God’s anointing upon him. Dikeh added that she respects the wisdom one exhibits in old age, not the old age itself.

She stated, “Please, please, please KEEP THE SAME ENERGY with your corrupted colleagues as you did today; it’s the anointing of God upon your head that’s making me not go off on this loose comment of yours.

“I have learned over the years that if you have nothing to say, keep mute (DON’T TALK AT ALL). Preach your gospel and leave Mohbad’s name out of your ministration. I don’t respect old age; I respect the wisdom you exhibit in old age.”

Dikeh has been one of the notable celebrities calling for justice following the death of Mohbad.
