Sule approves N500 million for Nasarawa workers’ health insurance

Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, has approved N500 million as the counterpart fund to the state Health Insurance Agency for 2024 fiscal year towards providing affordable healthcare services to the people.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Gaza Gwamna, made the disclosure at the inauguration of NASHIA enrollment exercise for the judiciary staff of Nasarawa on Tuesday in Lafia.

The commissioner also lauded the Chief Judge of Nasarawa, Justice Aisha Bashir and the state chairman and Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, Jimoh Musa, for making the enrollment of judiciary workers a reality after many years of struggle.
Mr Gwamna said that only three per cent of the salaries of civil servants were deducted, adding that the counterpart from the state government augmented the amount payable by an enrollee.
