Sule Lamido’s son joins Jigawa governorship race

Mustapha Sule Lamido, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, has joined the Jigawa governorship race in the 2027 election.
Mr Lamido, the son of the PDP bigwig and former Jigawa governor, Sule Lamido, made the declaration while presenting his nomination form to the party on Tuesday in Dutse.
He was also the PDP gubernatorial flagbearer in the 2023 election.
Mr Lamido said he was vying for the governorship after extensive consultations with party stakeholders in the state.
He said that he believed in the party’s philosophy, strength, and resilience to tackle its internal challenges as well as address problems bedevilling Nigeria.
“We have confidence in our party, and we believe the people of Jigawa and Nigeria believe in it as well. No other party has ever brought projects and programmes that improved the lives of Nigerians like the PDP,” he said.
He blamed the APC-led government for failing to implement positive programmes for sustainable social and economic development in the country.
While calling on party members for support, Mr Lamido promised to promote the party’s philosophy, anchored in patriotism and service to humanity.
