Summer school SA brings together young leaders from BRICS, Global South

The South African BRICS Youth Association, in partnership with the University of South Africa, will host the fifth BRICS Summer School South Africa 2026 between September 2 and 3.

The South African BRICS Youth Association, in partnership with the University of South Africa, will host the fifth BRICS Summer School South Africa 2026 between September 2 and 3.

The event will be held at the University of South Africa in Pretoria. The two-day event will bring together approximately 150 participants.

The programme will explore key issues, including the history and development of BRICS, economic cooperation, opportunities within BRICS, global governance reform, diplomacy, and the changing role of the Global South.

The summer school will also provide a platform for students, researchers, young professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, youth leaders and other participants to engage with experts.

The two-day programme will feature lectures and discussions on BRICS cooperation and opportunities, financial cooperation, global governance reform and the New Development Bank.

It will also create opportunities for meaningful engagement between local and international participants.
