Suspect arrested for allegedly shooting female resident in U.S. neighbourhood

A 41-year old resident of Bowie, Maryland, in the United State of America, Kimball Alton Hinton, has been arrested after allegedly shooting a resident at 8500 block of Myrtle Avenue.
The Bowie Police Department on Friday said the suspect was in their custody following the shooting on Thursday.
The police said that its officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 4:20 p.m. on August 20, 2026, in the Bowie neighbourhood.
“Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.
“The weapon used in this incident, a Sig Sauer 380 handgun, was recovered at the scene,” the police said.
It added that Mr Hinton was transported to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and charged with 1st- and 2nd-degree attempted murder, 1st- and 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment (3x), and additional firearm-related charges.
The police said suspect is being held without bond.
