Suspected motorcycle thief arrested in Niger
The Niger State police command says it arrested a suspected motorcycle thief and recovered a stolen bike at Dikko junction in Suleja council of the state.
A statement on Sunday by Wasiu Abiodun, the command’s spokesman, said on Tuesday at about 7:00 a.m.,the suspect was seen around Kateri village.
“On 1st September 2026 at about 7am, based on information received by Gawu-Babangida Div that one Jeremiah Dogara 28yrs of Kateri village, via Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State was sighted at Diko junction with a Bajaj motorcycle without any document trying to dispose it at a giveaway price and suspected to have been stolen”, he said.
He stated that police operatives moved to the location and the suspect was arrested.
Mr Abiodun said the suspect confessed during interrogation that he stole the motorcycle from someone in Kateri village within the month of August.
“The motorcycle was recovered and the suspect was charged to court for prosecution, while effort is ongoing to locate the rightful owner of the said motorcycle,” he said.
