The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria has pledged support for the activities of the Unified Super Eagles Supporters Club, led by Vincent Okumagba.

The Vice President (North Central) of SWAN, Olayinka Owolewa, made this declaration on Wednesday in Ilorin, Kwara State, during a reception organised by the Kwara State chapter, Unified Super Eagles Supporters Club.

The reception was held in honour of Mr Okumagba.

Mr Owolewa expressed delight at the establishment of a Unified Supporters Club, noting that past divisions among supporters had caused more harm than good, particularly at the last Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

He said, “SWAN has a strong relationship with Supporters Clubs, and now that we have a unified body, we will continue to project and promote their activities.’’

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Kwara State Chapter, Olubunmi Dickalo, commended members who travelled from far and near to attend the reception.

He assured that Kwara would continue to support Okumagba in his efforts to strengthen the club’s influence and impact.
