Swipha Pharma Nigeria Ltd. has donated anti-malarial drugs worth N500,000 to the Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency to support healthcare delivery.

The donation was announced in a statement issued on Thursday following a courtesy visit by representatives of the pharmaceutical company to the agency’s headquarters in Kano.

Receiving the donation, the director-general of DMCSA, Gali Sule, commended Swipha Pharma for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of the company’s commitment to supporting healthcare services in Kano.

Mr Sule said the donated drugs would strengthen the agency’s stock of essential medicines and enhance its capacity to meet residents’ healthcare needs.

He assured the company that the drugs would be utilised judiciously for the benefit of the people.

He said the agency remains committed to ensuring the provision of quality, affordable, and accessible drugs and medical consumables to healthcare facilities across the 44 local government areas of Kano.

He also reaffirmed the Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and expanding citizens’ access to quality healthcare services.

Earlier, Swipha Pharma’s business development executive, Esther John, said the donation was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

She said the gesture was intended to support the agency’s ongoing transformation efforts and consolidate the gains recorded in repositioning DMCSA from its previously moribund state.

Ms John added that the donation also reflected the company’s appreciation to the agency for settling its outstanding obligations and fostering a cordial, transparent, and productive business relationship under Sule’s leadership.

She commended the reforms introduced by the agency’s management in recent years, noting that they had strengthened drug supply chain operations in Kano State.

The executive assured the agency of the company’s readiness to sustain and expand its collaboration to improve healthcare service delivery in the state.

The donated anti-malaria drugs are expected to complement the agency’s ongoing efforts to ensure the availability of essential medicines and strengthen healthcare interventions across Kano.
