A 15-year-old Syrian went on trial in Berlin on Monday, nearly a year after three Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna were cancelled over terrorism fears.

Prosecutors accuse the teen of supporting a terrorist organisation and helping plan a serious act of violence.

He allegedly assisted a 19-year-old Austrian suspect by translating bomb-making instructions and facilitating contact with an Islamic State member.

The teen also reportedly sent a pledge of allegiance template to the older suspect. The concerts were called off in August 2024 due to fears of an imminent attack.

The trial is closed to the public due to the defendant’s age, and he remains free during proceedings.

Austrian authorities say no additional suspects are being pursued.
