The Magistrate, Abu Sa’id, struck out the case due to the absence in court of both the complainant and the defendants.
The defendants pleased not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
If convicted of the charged offences, Aina faces a maximum possible sentence of lifetime imprisonment, and Abiodun faces a maximum possible sentence of 40 years’ imprisonment.
It restated its commitment to help survivors of sexual offences by ensuring that perpetrators were held accountable for their actions.
In a statement on Thursday, Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC’s spokesperson, said the suspects comprise a female and 12 males.
They, however, pleaded not guilty before Magistrate M.O. Tanimola.
“Efforts are ongoing to arrest their criminal receiver of stolen goods and possible recovery of other items stolen by the gang in the past,” the police added.
Tina Essi has been taken into custody over the February 6 death of Christian Aparie, 49.
He also attacked the vigilante officer that tried to rescue his family, the police said.
