Mr Babale said that the victims were Nigerians comprising 17 males and 48 females aged between 15 and 42.
The victim was rescued and referred to the agency by the State Security Service in Kano, to be reunited with his family.
The victims consisted of 36 Nigerians from Anambra, Benue, Edo, Kogi, Osun, Ondo and Rivers, and 12 Ghanaians.
“The victims were on their way to Europe through the Nigerien border.”
A set of the rescued victims, 15 females and 12 men, were on their way to Libya, Tunisia and Europe.
“The victims were rescued by the Nigerien police in the Niger Republic, on their way to Libya,” Mr Babale said.
Four traffickers were apprehended while 19 females en route Europe via Libya were rescued.
The agency received 48 cases and arrested 53 suspects in connection with human trafficking and sexual abuse during the period under review.
