The state police spokesperson stated that the children had been rescued and reunited with their families and suspects charged to court.
Mr Adejobi said that upon intervention by the operatives, “12 children, ranging in age from six months to fourteen years, housed in the premises” were discovered.
“Any official found culpable of wrongdoing will face appropriate legal sanctions.’’
“We are worried by the invasion of our broadcast station in Umuahia by officers of the Nigerian Police.
The state police public relations officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, stated that all the missing children have been rescued.
She said the incident happened in November when the mother took the children to school.
The police warned any persons or groups intending to scuttle the relative peace enjoyed in the state to rethink such an idea.
The policemen were attached to the lawmaker representing the Isiala Ngwa South constituency in the state assembly, Ginger Onwusibe.
