Abubakar Kende, secretary general of the Red Cross, received the equipment in Abuja on Friday.
He said billions still lack safe sanitation, with 892 million practising open defecation.
The Country Manager of the British Red Cross, Karsten Voight, had earlier been honoured with the title ‘Otunba Soludero of Agboyi Kingdom.’
“More distributions are scheduled in the coming days to reach additional communities affected by the floods,” Red Cross said.
Mr Adeaga said that the NRCS was committed to standing with the people of Maiduguri during this challenging time.
Mr Kende, represented by the NRCS director of disaster management, Benson Agbo, said the stabilisation funds would be used to help flood victims.
She called for more collaboration among stakeholders in sensitising Nigerians to take proactive measures against flooding.
“We have agreed to partner to provide basic healthcare services to get treatment for free,” Mr Kende said.
“And, it is culminating in a high degree of criminality within our various communities.
