The Kano government has launched a fleet of motorcycles to enhance grassroots screening for tuberculosis to curb the spread of the disease.
The commissioner said 913 persons were diagnosed with the disease in Kano, while 720 were successfully treated.
Mr Yusuf said that the decision to embark on the protest was taken at the end of the NEC meeting.
The United Nations Population Fund has handed family planning materials to the Kano government.
