The police in Imo say three people were killed in a shooting spree by unknown gunmen at Orji flyover.
Unknown gunmen have attacked two Imo police divisions with petrol bombs, says the police commissioner in the state, Abutu Yaro.
Businesses and major markets could not open on Saturday in Owerri and its environs, ahead of Monday’s sit-at-home order by IPOB.
“The hoodlums attempted to stop the reconstruction work on the station which was set ablaze during the EndSARS protest in 2020.”
He called on residents of the state to remain calm and go about their lawful activities, adding that security agencies have the situation under “firm” control.
The residents, who stormed the streets in their hundreds along with women and children, used sticks and stones to attack vehicles and journalists.
Father of the six victims, said he suspected the abductors came for him but missed him.
