Organisers of the Windsor International Black Film Festival in Windsor, Ontario, announced that Nollywood actors and filmmakers will participate in the festival’s 2026 edition.
Participants received free screenings for sugar level, high blood pressure, malaria, hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS, and eye examinations.
Mrs Akerele emphasised that Nigeria has immense potential to showcase to the world.
“The congress has dissociated the guild from the proposed national protest and demonstration from August 1, 2024,” said Rollas.
“Some actors are not interested in insurance, while many have the celebrity mentality that everything should be done for them for free.”
“I, therefore, use this medium to appeal to young actors to sign up for the AGN HMO and Insurance programmes,” said the AGN president.
NFC has called for resolving the dispute between the Actors Guild of Nigeria and the Federation of Registered Nollywood Guilds and Associations.
Earlier, former national president of AGN, Segun Arinze, commended the efforts of the guild for planning to organise such a laudable festival.
“We have no option than to support him, having seen what he has in mind for us. We also felt there was a need to celebrate this victory.
AGN has urged its members nationwide to campaign, support and vote for all associates contesting in the February and March elections.
