Mr Oshiomhole, the All Progressives Congress senatorial candidate for Edo North, said this at the flag off of his campaign on Friday in Auchi.
Mr Oshiomhole promised to fight hard on the floor of the Senate for his constituents.
He added that the LP candidate cannot convince Nigerians that he will provide solutions to the country’s security woes.
Elizabeth Ativie attributed her decision to unresolved crises bedevilling APC in the state.
Mr Oshiomhole prayed that Mr Jonathan’s good works would continue to be remembered.
“It is the same APC template that both leaders (Buhari and Tinubu) that they will use,” Mr Keyamo said.
He stressed: “He never held any position in government. He didn’t carry out any contract on behalf of government. So how can you credit him either way?”
Mr Oshiomhole scored 309 votes to defeat his opponent and incumbent senator, Francis Alimikhena, who polled five votes.
Mr Oshiomhole said rather than submit to Mr Fayemi’s wish, he instead honourably resigned as APC national chairman.
The group asserted: “Oshiomhole’s popularity has not waned since leaving office unceremoniously as national chairman of the APC.”
