The victim was later seen in the video in a canoe being paddled to shore by a fisherman.
Mrs Adeseye said emergency responders extinguished the fire and recovered three Sienna buses, a Toyota Corolla, and a forklift from the affected area.
Mr Taofiq said operatives rescued eight passengers from the wreckage and took them to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
“The apprehended truck driver was formally handed over to the police for further interrogation and investigation,” the LASTMA boss said.
The LASTMA spokesperson said two people were also seriously injured in the accident, caused by a mechanical brake failure involving one of the vehicles.
“The fatal incident occurred along Simpson Street, inward Ikoyi, on Osborne Expressway by the Traffic Light Junction,” Mr Adebayo said.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said the accident occurred along Ijora Causeway, inward Ijora 7Up.

The LASTMA spokesperson said the driver, who tried to flee the scene, was caught and handed over to the police.
