He warned students and parents against fraudsters and unauthorised platforms.
He said the university would not condone any form of disorderly conduct or unauthorised gathering during or after examinations.
Mr Bobola said that the affected students refused to access the students’ loans provided by the Nigerian Education Students’ Loan Fund.
The ban was not unconnected with the recent electricity crisis that hit the university.
Mr Bobola said, “The decision to reopen the university was made by the Senate at its meetings held on July 23 and 24, 2024.’’
The suspension takes immediate effect from Monday, April 29, 2024.
The institution’s registrar, Ademola Bobola, announced this in a notice on Sunday in Benin.
The Senate of the University of Benin has approved removing the N20,000 late registration fee that led to a two-day mass protest by students of the institution.
UNIBEN students had blocked the Benin-Lagos expressway and the Ekheuan road over a N20,000 late registration fee imposed by the school authority.
