Mr Irelewuyi said the accident could be attributed to brake failure, mechanical fault and loss of control.
Witnesses said the driver of the truck drove against traffic, and then ran after the accident.
FRSC said, “The gas vapour is still leaking as of this time, but the fire service personnel are also on the ground neutralising the area.”
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra said a crash involving four vehicles at Upper Iweka by Awka-Onitsha Expressway killed a driver and a pedestrian.
22 persons including 17 male adults and five female adults were involved in the crash.
“The crash involved five male adults. Two were killed, including one that was burnt beyond recognition.”
The occupants of the Toyota Hiace bus were the two nuns and their driver while a couple were the occupants of the Toyota Highlander.
“The Sienna was on top speed while trying to avoid an incoming motorcycle…somersaulted and crashed into the bush.”

“The driver of the vehicle slept off while driving and crashed,” said the FRSC sector commander in Anambra state.
