Mr Pearse described Mr Makinde as a symbol of a new generation of leadership Nigerians were yearning for.
Mr Pearse stated that powerful global actors would not ignore any attempt to undermine Nigeria’s democratic process.
Mr Pearse insisted that the convention was peaceful, valid, and widely representative, contrary to claims of poor attendance or boycotts by some blocs.
Mr Ibrahim made the pledge as he assumed office as the 12th GMD/CEO of the naval investment company.
Adetokunbo Pearse, convener of the Reset Lagos Peoples Democratic Party, says the party’s forthcoming national convention is vital to Nigeria’s democratic survival.
Mr Pearse, former member of Atiku Abubakar 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, disclosed this in an interview on Tuesday in Lagos.
“Lagos PDP is filled with wrong people and that is why the party is in trouble.’’
“We should just keep hope alive, keep getting ready and planning toward the 2027 general elections,” he said.
Mr Pearse said he would officially write to the PDP national chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) and the party leaders on the issue.
The defectors cited the lack of internal democracy in the ruling party as part of the reasons for their defection.
