A survey on the implementation of the federal government’s Safe School Initiative in Kogi, Niger and Nasarawa has revealed mixed outcomes.
The commissioner lauded Mr Sule for prioritising the education sector by allocating the highest amount in the state budget since 2019.
The state AGILE office supported enrollment in the Shobanke community in collaboration with the Zamfara Social Protection Platform (ZSPP)
He also mentioned that more than two million girls have directly benefited from the project.
He also thanked the emir for the warm reception of the team during the visit and hoped that the visit would serve as a milestone for achieving a better outcome.
The commissioner, represented by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Barira Ibrahim, noted that teachers’ recruitment remained one of the Zamfara government’s priorities.
Governor Nasir Idris says his government has commenced training 2,400 primary school teachers.
“This discrimination must stop with the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders,” Mr Sununu said.
The federal government has restated its commitment towards addressing the menace of out-of-school children in the country.
Speaking at the event in Katsina, the governor said this was the project’s first phase, adding another set of 75 schools would also be constructed later.
