Saudi Arabia has officially declared Monday, May 18, as the first day of Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH, following the sighting of the crescent moon.
While felicitating the Nigerian Muslim Ummah, the Sultan urged them to continue praying for peace, progress, and the development of the country.
“Therefore, Saturday, May 20, will be the 30th day of Shawwal 1444AH.
Mr Abubakar made the call in a statement on Wednesday by Sambo Junaidu, the chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto.
Sha’aban is the eighth month in the Islamic calendar which comes before the compulsory fasting month of Ramadan.
Jumada Al-Thani appears as the sixth month in the Islamic calendar.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar observed by Muslims worldwide as a month for fasting and prayer.
