Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo has congratulated the leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, on his 100th birthday.
The event, organised by the Olayinka Odumakin Foundation, is a tribute to the late pro-democracy activist.
“Afenifere unequivocally supports this decisive action, which comes after years of relentless insecurity,” a statement by the group said.
Afenifere called for intensified internal surveillance by the SSS and military intelligence.
Mr Onigbinde assured the public and stakeholders of the organisation’s commitment to delivering an impactful, inclusive, and productive summit.
The group noted that it is an act of dishonesty to label and tribalise Mr Tinubu’s government and give it ethnic colouration.
The traditional ruler of the community, Taiwo Samuel, lamented the inability of the state government to curb attacks on farmers.
Mr Okunniyi said that the late leader was quite distinguished and courageous in his contribution to the restoration of Nigeria’s current democracy.
