The UN refugee agency and other global rights groups have urged Pakistan to rethink the repatriation plans.
A total of 20,966 Afghan refugees returned to their country on Wednesday.
This solo engagement comes when Meghan and Harry are reportedly pursuing individual projects, as the couple have not been seen attending events together recently.
“The caretaker government will try to send all illegal Afghan refugees back by January,” he added.
According to government figures, around 4.4 million Afghan refugees live in Pakistan, 1.7 million of them without valid documents.
Pakistan will facilitate the resettlement of 25,000 Afghans who worked for the U.S. during its war in Afghanistan to the United States, Prime Minister Anwaar Kakar said.
Over 2.5 million registered Afghan refugees reportedly live in neighbouring Pakistan, about the same number in Iran.
The UN agency has worked closely with the Government of Canada and other partners to safely resettle Afghans in the country since August 2021.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has estimated that over 1.4 million Afghan refugees are registered in Pakistan.
