The Taliban have killed around 80,000 Pakistanis in nearly two decades of violence, according to official statistics.
They insisted that the assassination also sharpened concerns about militants’ presence in Afghanistan.
A local claimed that over a dozen wounded people were taken to the provincial hospital as fighting spread to several locations.
According to the UN, the Taliban mainly targets former Afghan government officials and individuals accused of affiliation with political opponents.
The outbreak of an unknown disease has claimed the lives of no less than 20 children in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province.
The report said abduction, sexual violence including rape, rose by 20 per cent in 2021, with attacks on schools and hospitals also showing an increase.
Some 3,000 Taliban representatives had gathered in Kabul for an important assembly of leaders to decide on political issues.
Severe wasting – where children are too thin for their height – is the most visible and lethal form of undernutrition.
The allotment will be used to address the “most immediate needs” of Afghans.
