Lawmakers Ahmed Mohammed, Abdullahi Bello and Moses Ododo are accused of forging members’ signatures for other purposes.
The four were also suspended from the House.
The court adjourned till May 23 for continuation of the matter.
Mr Ayu was the consensus candidate for national chairman at the party’s 2021 convention in Abuja.
The appointees have since been deployed to their respective positions as indicated in their appointment letters.
The prosecuting counsel told the court that the witness could not make it to court because the vehicle with which he was traveling down to Abuja from the east broke down.
