The air component carried out multiple coordinated missions on Sunday across Kakihun, Oke-Ode, Babanla, and surrounding areas.
Mr Gabkwet said the joint operation was conducted between the Air Component and the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army on January 30 on the location.
The NFA said despite the festive season, air operations against criminals in the Niger Delta continued unabated.
“The precision strike was adjudged effective as it neutralised Yellow Jambros and his colleagues.’’
“Another location Northwest of Omama was also struck as it was observed to be containing items suspected to contain stolen crude oil in objects tied in sacks.”
‘‘Several fighters were among the terrorists eliminated in the air strike.’’
He said the NAF component of Operation Whirl Punch carried out the air interdiction mission.
Mr Gabkwet said the operations were coordinated with the land component and other security agencies within the operational theatres.
He said that the NAF aircraft were immediately dispatched to interdict the location.
The remaining four helicopters are expected to be delivered before the end of the second quarter of 2024.
