The Taraba governor said the aim was to upscale surveillance and air interdiction to obliterate criminal elements on the porous Nigeria-Cameroon border.
The Nigerian Air Force said “several terrorists were neutralised while over 40 motorcycles and six gun trucks were destroyed.”
He said the strikes at both locations achieved their intended outcome and were deemed effective.
“These efforts will be sustained in these locations and others until oil thieves and their accomplices desist from their illegal activities,” the statement added.
In the Niger Delta region, Mr Gabkwet said airstrikes were targeted at the nefarious activities of oil thieves.

“Additionally, there was no loss of lives or damage to any property around the area of impact,” Mr Gabkwet said.
