“The state police command will arrest and prosecute violators,” the Oyo police spokesman said.
The Gazette gathered that there had been reports of sporadic shooting in some areas of Owo since Tuesday with some residents leaving in fear.
The police command in the state said the suspects belong to Eiye and Aiye confraternities and were allegedly involved in violent activities and killings.
The Nigerian leader bemoaned the recent spate of gang violence across the key southwestern state.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the crisis was connected to the revenue generation at the Ketu fruits market.”
