Mr Adeleye said no Amotekun officer died in the encounter with the suspected kidnappers.
A source who preferred anonymity confirmed the abduction of the two men on Sunday, saying the bandits dragged the victims into a forest near the scene.
The state Commander of the NDLEA, Kayode Raji, vowed to go after drug dealers.
“A follow-up operation at a warehouse in the area led to the recovery of 332kg of Indian hemp,” he stated.
Witnesses said the incident occurred at 3:00 p.m. on Itedo Eledumare Street, Obale, in Akure North Local Government Area.
She revealed that her abductors seized her while on her way to the farm and kept her inside the thick forest in the kidnappers’ den.
The 21-year-old suspect was arrested after he burgled one of the houses in the sleepy community on May 26, and allegedly stole two mobile phones.
