Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has emerged as the new president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, replacing George Obiozor, who died last December.
“The issue of (zoning the) presidency to the South-East was never on the table.”
He said the group has found a suitable candidate in Labour Party’s Peter Obi.
Mr Ogbonnia said Mr Obiozor “spoke emotionally about the candidacy of Peter Obi” at the last National Executive Committee meeting of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation.
Malami says Ohaneze Ndigbo supports order while IPOB advocates lawlessness as he welcomes the formation of a legal team by the group to monitor Nnamdi Kanu’s trial.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, says it has not issued a public statement on the re-arrest and re-arraignment of Nnamdi Kanu.
